About

Born and raised in the church, I am the 6th generation of my family to serve the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as a professional church worker. My family’s legacy is evidence of God’s generational faithfulness and it is my privilege and passion to continue to serve the Lord through the work of his church.

My background, education, and professional experience combine so perfectly for my work in helping ministries organize and operate optimally. I was educated in Lutheran schools from Kindergarten through post-grad. In college, I focused intensely on theology which provided a solid foundation and understanding of the core of ministry. Over the 16 years that I have served in ministry, I have had the opportunity to experience working in both churches and schools in a variety of roles. From my own career and listening to my family and friends in ministry, I began to see a common thread that runs through, what I have come to refer to as, “the business of the church”, or how the church operates as an organization.

On one hand, we have professional, synodically-trained church workers, most of whom only have work experience within the church and have little training in business operations. On the other hand, we have professionals from the business world who have been brought into the church, typically in administrative-type roles. Their experience tends to be all corporate and they typically do not have theological/ministry-specific training or experience. There is overlap where business principles are needed to run an effective organization, however, there are significant differences in running a business versus operating a ministry.

This is where my passion and purpose comes in. I help sort through the weeds of both ministry and business (which includes marketing, communications, organizational structure and strategy) and blend what is needed from both sides to create optimized organizational systems that allow you and your ministry to carry out your calling and mission with excellence.
